Hi, Did something happen to Lemon Lady? She is the one who gave me inspiration as well as excellent information when I traveled to Turkey 3 years ago as a single senior female.

Hello!

My name is Alex and I am very glad that I stumbled into your blog! Here is why.

I am the co-founder of a site that is called Dopios (www.dopios.com) and its mission is to connect travelers with locals,or people who know a location well, for unique and authentic experiences and advice. You definitely seem to know the right people in Istanbul.

We started from Athens, Greece and we are now expanding in many more locations. Dopios was also recently featured on a BBC documentary (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/fast_track/9745758.stm) as a great initiative in tourism along side the Greek Minister of Tourism!

We are very new (we’ve been around for 2 months), but we are growing extremely fast. One of our next cities is Istanbul, and I wanted to get in touch to see if you can help us find great locals who can offer unique experiences and tailored advice to people visiting.

If you are interested please shoot me an email.

With appreciation,
Alex

Glad to find your blog. May be you can help me finding a street where my Mother lived during WWI. In her travel diary (when she went back in the sixties)the address is Calleocugulluck 97. I can't find it on the map.

Thanks for your help.

Looking forward to see Beyoglue in 2 weeks.

Dear Gator100,
According to Turkish pronounciation of this word, I think it is Kayncu Kulluğu str. near beyoğlu. Put this address into googlemaps search w/o quotes:
"Kalyoncu Kulluğu Caddesi, 97, Beyoğlu, Istanbul, Türkiye"

Hello Alp,
I think you found the right street. My Mother went to the German School, which is not far from there. We will visit the street when we are in Istanbul next week.
Thank you so much. You made my day.

Hi Alp,
I am very curious to know if you can help me find a musical performance at the Aya Irini (Hagia Eirene) next year.
We will be there from 22nd March to 26th March and then 29th March to 1st April.
Much appreciate your help to help us discover this piece of beauty.
Love your blog and, as a vegetarian, if you have any local food recommendations, we would love to try them out.
Thanks :)
